Who is Skubo Anyway?

want to know my story? Well, you asked for it.

Some people frame their first one-dollar bill. I framed something else. At my desk, right next to the photo of my family, I keep a handwritten note from my grandparents. It reads:

"We are proud of all you have accomplished. You have learned a lot, especially about the importance of hard work, commitment, and dedication. It is these values that will make you successful. Go forward, knowing this will make you succeed in anything you do. May God bless you always".

This note is my North Star. Not because it hangs on the wall, but because it shows up in the work. It's the standard every client engagement gets measured against, whether I'm building a brand from scratch, redesigning a website, or helping a nonprofit find the right words for a grant application. The commitment my grandparents believed in is the same commitment I bring to every project.

The Conductor of Creativity

I see myself as more than a marketer. I'm the conductor of creativity. What that means in practice: I listen first. I ask the questions most people skip. I figure out where you are before I suggest where to go. Then I build something that aligns with your vision, your pace, and your budget, not the most impressive thing I can sell you.

My process is rooted in the same values my grandparents wrote about: hard work, integrity, and doing what's right. If I make a mistake, I own it, ask for grace, and work hard to make it right. That's not a policy. It's just how I was raised.Every service at Skubo Creative is designed to make a real, lasting difference. Not just in your marketing, but in how you feel about your business.

A Net Positive

At the core of everything I do is a simple goal: to be a net positive in the lives of the people I work with and the community I'm part of.

That means more than delivering good work. It means listening when someone needs to think something through. It means connecting people to resources, opportunities, and each other, even when there's nothing in it for me. It means finding joy in the growth of the businesses and nonprofits I serve, not just at the end of a project but long after the final file lands. If I can help you, I will. If I can't, I'll find three people who can and make the introduction myself.

Where's All This Going?

Honestly? I'm not entirely sure. And I think that's okay.

What I do know is this: I'm here to help. As a community leader, a marketing strategist, and someone who genuinely cares about the people in this region, I show up for small businesses and nonprofits the same way every time. Whether that's building your brand, spreading the word about what you do, connecting you to funding, or just being a steady presence when things feel uncertain. Skubo Creative is more than a studio. It's a commitment to this community and the people doing meaningful work in it. Whatever the next chapter looks like, I'm glad you're part of it.

Proud to Be in the Room

Being embedded in this community isn't a marketing strategy. It's just where I belong. These are the organizations I show up for regularly, not because it's good for business, but because the work they do matters and I want to be part of it.

#SkuboVentures

I've met a lot of people, listened to a lot of stories, and gotten involved with a lot of organizations along the way. Whether you're a client, a friend, someone who met me at a networking event, or all of the above: thank you for being part of the ride.
